CHANGE MODEL

Institutional: The “Best School for Girls” campaign keeps girls in school and out of child marriage. Through partnerships with 268 schools and plans to work with the Ministry of Education, the campaign gives incentives to make schools more girl-friendly.

OUTCOMES

In partnership with 268 schools to adopt girl-centric practices, results in the first year were astonishing:

  • The marriage rate dropped 20%
  • 31% fewer girls dropped out of school
  • Of girls who did drop out to marry, 78% returned to school
  • 33% of partner schools started a Sexual Violence Prevention committee
