MAKING AN IMPACT IN: Jordan
Sonita is a teenage, undocumented immigrant from Afghanistan living in the poor suburbs of Tehran. She fights spiritedly to live as an artist, singer, and musician in spite of the obstacles she confronts in Iran and from her conservative, patriarchal family. In harsh contrast to her artistic dreams is her family’s plan: to make her a bride and sell her to a new family.
